Yesteryear Collection

This wreck truck is based on the Model 'A' Ford. Often a small garage requiring a breakdown vehicle would use the chassis of an old large car, fitting it out with a simple angle iron hoist and hand operated winch. Many of these vehicles lasted many years in service. This wreck truck was powered by a 4 cyl. 2 lt. engine wheel base 8'8'' (2.64 m).

Ford built in England in Dagenham from 1930 on the basis of the American-developed model A cars and vans that were given the name Ford model A and AA. In America, the production of the Ford model A had already started in 1928 and turned out to be a huge success. The construction on the chassis was often done by specialized bodywork companies such as this tow truck.

The (Y7-4) 1930 Ford Model A Breakdown Truck joined the range in 1985 and was based on the Y21 Model A Ford Woody with a new roof, load bed and crane & winch.
With the removal of the crane and a new floor to the load bed the (Y7-4) was later released as the Y35-1.
